Loadstar provides product handling and site logistics services to refineries, chemical plants, barge lines and terminals. We load and unload all classes of cargos into railcars, trucks, barges, and ships; we operate docks, tank farms, terminals, and warehouses; and we manage site logistics for marine, rail, truck, and pipeline. Chemical Loaders at this site are responsible for the safe and efficient loading of liquid hazardous materials into railcars and trucks. Experience is a plus but not required. Paid on-the-job training is included. This is a full-time position with potential opportunities for advancement.
Schedule & Pay

• Full Time
• 5 days per week, 8 hour day shift with some overtime including weekend coverage

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Follow all company and customer procedures for this activity. Paid training will be provided at the site. Requirements include but are not limited to the following.
• Ensure that railcar or truck is positioned and secured properly at the loading rack and checks for last product contained.
• Visually inspect the railcar or truck before transfer to ensure that it is safe to load. Look for defective equipment or other indications that the vehicle is not mechanically sound or does not meet regulatory requirements.
• Wear all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment that may be required to transfer the product.
• Connect loading equipment and transfers according to procedures using gauges, automated system, and/or strapping tables.
• Checks weight before and after product transfer and ensures that outages or innages do not exceed Department of Transportation (DOT) certification for the particular vessel being loaded.
• Communicate with site leader / supervisor on any problems as they occur.
• Disconnect loading equipment, inspect for any leaks and complete required paperwork prior to releasing the railcar or truck.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the site leader.

Job Qualifications – Candidate must:

• Must be safety conscious and able to always follow OSHA safety standards
• Must possess a valid TWIC card and driver's license
• 18 years of age or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Have a reliable means of transportation to and from work
• Stable work history with good references from past employers
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Speak fluent English

Physical Requirements – Candidate must be able to:

• Speak, write, read, hear, and have good vision
• Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include heat and cold
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
• Lift 50 pounds floor to waist
• Push and pull 50 pounds horizontally
• Carry 20 pounds while walking
• Walk 2-10 miles per day
• Stand 4-8 hours per day
• Climb stairs and ladders
• Support oneself on a ladder with two feet and one arm extended for up to five minutes
• Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting
